TMS uses the Customer Synonym file to match customer names received in EDI messages to customer codes set up in your customer master file.
For example, you may find that the customer “Georgia Pacific” is spelled many different ways in waybills or bills of lading received via EDI in your TMS system.
You can use the Customer Synonym master file to match the various waybill spellings for “Georgia Pacific” to the correct entry in the Customer master. This allows you to easily generate traffic reports and block cars to the correct points on your road.
